More games: Star Wars and Smallworld.
Victory!!!!!!!!!
Neither one of us was excited to play Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Deck-Building Game. I was not really interested because I don't like deck building games, Matt was not interested because he heard it wasn't very great. But with two complete-ists in the relationship, play it we did.
I was impressed with the instructions, which were easy enough to follow without referring to a forty-page instruction guide and were written right on the board.

I also liked this game because I won! We only played one round and I was victorious at the end of that round and we ended play. This is the last time you will see this game at The Orange Door. We donated it.
Then we played Smallworld, a game I quite enjoy, even more so when I win, which I did. This despite carefully choosing a race with "spirit" in my first round so they would live on the board for the remaining ten rounds, only to have Matt destroy all of them, denying me that carefully chosen perk.

Squeak visits.
The Aunts are in Hawaii and so that means that Squeak is here for a visit. Isn't he a handsome fella?

Smallworld Underground.
Our quest to play all of our board games in reverse alphabetical order continues:
Before and after our visit to the Academy Theater, we played a game of Smallworld Underground, which is like Smallworld, but adds even more rules.
I lost.
I like Smallworld, I think it's a smart game. But it's already pretty complex. The Smallworld Underground I feel is too complex. Plus, I lost.

A visit to the Academy Theater
For our date tonight we decided to see the World's End at the Academy Theater. It was our first visit, as this theater is not in our normal trajectory of daily life.
A nicely refurbished exterior.

Here is the original drinking fountain. Apparently people didn't mind doubling over to drink, back in the day, as I think my legs were taller than the drinking fountain.
Our theater. The Academy Theater is making the conversion to digital and many of the slides before the movie listed people who donated for a new projector.
Overall, this was a great little theater.

Cordless.
We've had a cord running between our bedrooms for, oh, maybe five years. That's five years of looking at it and thinking I should do something about it. The cord connects my computer to Matt's computer, and his computer to the phone line where we get our DSL Internet. Of late, we've been having trouble with our Internet. Matt did a bunch of troubleshooting and found out that our modem died. We have a new one now and also my computer is now a wireless computer which means the cord between our computers is no more. Good job Matt!

One final birthday celebration.
Matt took me to see a movie and then to Papa Hayden's for a delicious dessert. I found it odd that they would write "Mint" on the plate. I would have gone with "yum" or "mmmmm" or "yeah!" And you?
