Walking through my yard, I discovered that my columnar apple tree was hinting it needed to be harvested. One apple was on the ground. I pulled down this other one and ate them for lunch. They were good.
The columnar apples haven't produced in large amounts, I think the most I have harvested was three apples per tree. I am going to top them this winter to keep them from growing any taller and see if they put more energy into producing fruit.
