Our hotel, McMenamins Olympic Club Hotel, was a block away from the train station.
Here, Matt unlocks the door to the hotel.
We had real keys!

Not our room, because I didn't take a picture of it before we invaded, but a nice of example of what the rooms look like when you walk in.
We had a great corner room named after Tom Churchill, who was a historian who wrote Centralia Dead March, which examined the Centralia Massacre.

The Olympic Club was a gentleman's club for many years. So we get fringe-laden lamps for decor and heavy velvet curtains.
Our room was one of two by the back staircase. Quotes on the wall leading up the stairs indicated our room was one of two where the "working girls" worked and that the men would sneak up the back staircase to engage their services.
Should you want, you can get this jar filled with beer from the bar downstairs. We did not want, but I took home the sticker.

I love McMeniman properties! I love that they are saving old buildings and giving them new life. The hotel looks great! We've never stayed in one and I feel like that must change in our future! :)
